Beyonce a pus monopol pe Grammy -ul din 2021

Celebra Beyonce a adunat cele mai multe nominalizări la gala Grammy Awards 2021. Deși până la 39 de ani a reușit să adune deja 24 de premii, Queen B a mai primit alte nouă nominalizări pentru ediția de anul viitor a Grammy Awards.

Artista cu albumul lansat în pandemie – “Black Parade” – a reușit să devanseze alte două cântărețe pop, pe Dua Lip și Taylor Swift. Cele două şi rapperul Roddy Rich au primit fiecare câte şase nominalizări. Cântăreaţa de muzică rap Megan Thee Stallion, considerată unul dintre fenomenele muzicale ale anului 2020, a primit patru nominalizări. Și Billie Eilish, cea care a reuşit în ianuarie să facă „Marele Slam” după ce s-a impus patru categorii importante la gala Grammy Awards 2020, a primit și de această dată patru nominalizări.

Din păcate, printre nominalizații din acest an nu s-a numărat și The Weeknd, iar asta l-a înfuriat pe artist. La câteva ore după ce Recording Academy a anunţat numele artiştilor care vor concura în cadrul celei de-a 63-a ediţii a premiilor Grammy, cântăreţul canadian The Weeknd a scris marţi pe Twitter, adresându-se celor 13,5 milioane de abonaţi ai contului său, că premiile „Grammy rămân corupte”. 

Potrivit BuzzAngle, compania specializată în verificarea vânzărilor de albume, „After Hours” s-a vândut în 460.000 de exemplare şi a acumulat peste 1,7 miliarde de difuzări în streaming. Aceste cifre sunt suficiente pentru a demonstra că „After Hours” etse al treilea cel mai consumat album al anului. În acelaşi timp, „Blinding Lights” a intrat în topul 10 Billboard’s Hot 100 din luna februarie.

Pe lista nominalizărilor s-au strecurat şi alte nume, ce-i drept mai puţin obişnuite în palmaresul galei ce atribuie cele mai râvnite premii din industria muzicală americană, precum actriţa Meryl Streep şi concursul de televiziune Eurovision.
