Nominalizările pentru cea de-a 94-a ediție a Premiilor Oscar au fost anunțate marți și au inclus filme dintr-o gamă largă de genuri.
„The Power of the Dog”, un western cu accente sumbre şi psihologice, difuzat de Netflix, are cele mai multe șanse la premiile Oscar din acest an, fiind nominalizat la 12 categorii, printre care și cea pentru cel mai bun film. Regizorul dramei, Jane Campion, a făcut istorie devenind prima femeie care a fost nominalizată de mai multe ori pentru cel mai bun regizor.
Regizorul Steven Spielberg a stabilit, de asemenea, un nou record. În calitate de producător al filmului „West Side Story”, care a obținut un total de șapte nominalizări, Spielberg a produs acum 11 filme nominalizate pentru cel mai bun film, un nou record pentru premiile Oscar.
Denzel Washington și-a extins recordul pe care îl deține deja ca cel mai nominalizat actor de culoare, câștigând a zecea nominalizare la Oscar pentru interpretarea sa din „Tragedia lui Macbeth”. (Una dintre nominalizările sale a fost pentru producție.)
Ceremonia de decernare a Premiilor Oscar este programată să aibă loc la Dolby Theatre din Hollywood pe 27 martie și va premia filmele lansate între 1 martie și 31 decembrie 2021.
